4 Safety Tips For Families As Disney Reopens

The COVID-19 outbreak has been a damper, to say the least, affecting people the world over. Whether you miss being at school, seeing your friends, or socializing in general, or have had to postpone and delay major life plans and decisions, it’s been a tough adjustment to make.

Many people have had to put a hold on travel plans and vacations, with most of summer 2020 going by in trying to gauge the situation and see when it was safe enough to move about.

Now that public spaces and entertainment venues have started to opening, travel restrictions are easing up, and people are getting the hang of the new normal, you can plan for that big Disney World vacation you wanted to go on.

But keep in mind that safety is extremely important to maintain, so you need to follow these tips and advice as Disney reopens and your head on vacation:

1.     Find the safest travel alternatives with your group.

Now that you’ve found a social bubble to travel and vacation with, it’s important that all of you choose the safest travel option available. If you can, avoid air travel because you’ll have to wait in long queues, be put in crowded carriers, and be unable to maintain safe social distancing while you're traveling.

You should also factor in at least a few days of quarantine and self-isolation before and after your travel, so plan the timeline of your trip with that in mind.

2.     Keep your itinerary focused on outdoor activities.

While you’re headed to Disney World, keep your activities focused on outdoor rides and avoid too many crowds and closed spaces such as theatres and restaurants. You can't control the way other people behave, but you can choose to be selective and careful with the activities you participate in.

3.     Always keep facial coverings while in public places.

Additionally, you should always use appropriate face masks and coverings while in public. When visiting the park, taking public transport, or even heading on a grocery run, be sure to keep your face covered and protected, use sanitizer and disinfectants, and other safety essentials. Carry your own water bottles and snacks too if necessary, and don't leave behind disinfectant wipes.

4.     Follow all safety precautions in place by Disney World.

Disney has released a set of safety measures and SOPs that all park-goers must abide by. These are for your safety and good health, given that the virus is highly contagious and can affect different people to varying degrees of intensity, with some being asymptomatic, while others end up gravely ill.

In all of this, it’s also important to choose an accommodation that is private, comfortable and safe. You can book a rental vacation home near Disney through Blue Travel, and choose a luxury vacation home in Orlando where you can stay safely, away from large crowds and people.
